Argentina is one of the most popular soccer teams in the world. They’ve been competing at the highest level since they debuted at the 1930 World Cup. They’ve had their share of ups and downs over the years, with a good run every now and then. In case you don’t know already, here are three reasons why Argentina will win this year’s World Cup.
Argentina is a tough team to beat.
The Albiceleste responded to the heavy criticism they got for their performance at the 2014 World Cup, when they were eliminated in the Round of 16, with a more motivated attitude and a strategy that targeted preparation in the gym and on the field. Despite the fact that they’ve never won the tournament before, they’ve had some really close calls in the past, like in 1978 and 1986, where they lost on penalties to West Germany and Italy, respectively. They’ve also never met France in a final, making it the perfect draw for the Albiceleste to finally get the elusive World Cup trophy. French soccer fans are very passionate and have a lot of love for their national team, but they also have a long history of bad luck when it comes to winning the World Cup. They also have a pretty tough Group G draw, as they’ll face off against Australia, Peru and Denmark. Australia and Peru are good teams, but Denmark is a bit of a wildcard. If France manages to get past those teams, a matchup with Argentina in the final is not out of the question.
Lionel Messi is too good not to win it all.
If there’s one player who can lift his country to victory, it’s Messi. He’s been the best player in the world for the past few years, he’s a great team-mate and he’s a leader on the pitch. He’s incredibly talented, he’s one of the few players in the world capable of dribbling past three players at once, he’s an amazing finisher and he’s a great passer too. He’s also got an amazing work-rate and is always looking to make his teammates better. His performances in the past World Cups have been very good, but he’s never been at his best throughout the tournament. This time, though, Messi will be at his best. He’ll be motivated and he’ll have the whole world watching him, making him one of the most famous soccer players in the world. If he has anything less than his best game, though, it won’t be enough to win it all for Argentina.
The best game of the tournament .
Both teams have a lot of experience and a lot of great players. They’ve had some great battles in the past, like in the 2002 World Cup where Germany triumphed over Argentina in the quarterfinals, and in the 2014 World Cup, where Argentina managed to hold on for a draw with the Germans in extra time. Both teams will be extremely motivated to win it all, and soccer betting odds say that this one will be the best game of the tournament. The winner of this one will be the team with the most momentum coming into the knockout stage, and it’ll also be the last game of the World Cup before the tournament will be over. Both teams are excellent passers and have a lot of talent on the wings, making it a great battle of who’ll be better at using their fullbacks to create scoring chances. The defending World Cup champions are just not the same team that we saw two years ago. They were a young and inexperienced team that had a lot to prove, and they proved themselves worthy of the title. They’ve since added more experience to their side and they’ve also got their best player back in the fold, with Mario Gotze recovering from a knee injury. However, this team has never been close to winning it all. They’re probably the biggest underdogs of the tournament and soccer betting odds have them as low as 150/1 to win the title. Even their most optimistic fans have to admit that this team is not the elite team that won it two years ago. They’ve had a pretty rough couple of years and a disappointing showing in the 2015 Confederations Cup, where they finished as runner-up to Chile.
